A FAIRTRADE week of varied and interesting activities was held at the school to raise the pupils' awareness of Fairtrade and what it means.
Years 5 and 6 created Powerpoint presentations that were shown to other classes and to whole school assemblies. These were very informative and showed everyone how purchasing Fairtrade goods and products can ensure that farmers and growers have a fair deal in the market place.
In the classes, a variety of activities were arranged to stimulate pupil interest in the concept of Fairtrade. A popular activity with the children were the Fairtrade food tasting sessions. At the Leavers' Service on the last day of term we organised a stall to sell Fairtrade products to parents and children. This raised a healthy £140.
We appreciate the support and assistance of Christian Aid in Carmarthen for facilitating the work.
