HANDS-ON HISTORY WORKSHOPS
On Thursday, June 6th Mr. John Richards from Rubicon Education visited the school to take historical hands-on practical sessions with the junior pupils.
Each class in turn had the opportunity to explore and investigate some Victorian artefacts, learn about how they were used and how the same items today have changed and developed with the advent of electricity and new modern technology.
The practical element to the sessions proved very popular and allowed the pupils to learn through handling, drawing and playing with the artefacts.
At the end of the day, an interesting slide show on aspects of the Victorian period was shown to all the pupils. The day turned out to be a worthwhile educational experience for all the children.
Inviting people into school is always a pleasant change.
